Item Description »
Antique English Staffordshire ironstone jug/ pitcher made by Mason's. This hydra shaped jug with a serpent handle was finely made in the Imari palette with hand painted details. The pottery mark identifies the maker as Staffordshire potter Fenton Stone Works which was also G. M. & C. J. Mason. No. 306 refers to the pattern. Made C.1825, this little jug has a few flaws that reflect its age. It measures approx. 6" tall and 5" wide at the handle and 2 3/4" across the base.
