Antique drabware pitcher dated September 1, 1840. This pitcher is quite grand and lovely. It features a very detailed scene of 2 knights on horses in a jousting match. There are 2 other knights in armour standing by watching the match. There is also a tent. The pitcher is decorated with an elaborate band of grapevines with clusters of grapes, a Gothic design outlining the spout and base, and beautifully designed handle. The detailed workmanship on this pitcher is very fine. It measures approx. 9 3/4" tall to the top of the handle and approx. 7 1/2" across at the widest point. This is a rare and beautiful pitcher.
